Winnie is the 1st of the Pistol Pups. We (Hank & Amy) got her at about 5 months old. After she stole our hearts, we decided to add a couple more dogs to the pack. She had 2 perfectly healthy litters but had complications with her 3rd litter. As soon as we realized she was in distress, we rushed her to the emergency vet where she had to have a C-section in the middle of the night. For her health, we asked them to fix her at the same time. To this day, she remains the ‘Princess’ of the house and we love her as much today as the day she joined our family.
She is considered the Princess because she runs the house. When she wants to be picked up, she has a specific whine to let us know. If us ‘servants’ somehow allow the water or food bowl to empty, she taps her foot in the dish, then looks at us with those judgementle eyes. She is a very talkative little pup and loves to snuggle in bed with us at night. As most Shih Tzus, they typically have their own personalities and this one has a lot of it!
While we are running this as a business, we are constently researching more about the breed, health and food options as well as best breeding practices. We want to take the best care of the dogs as possible and offer the healthiest puppies to loving homes.
Prior to starting our own pack, Amy brought a little more then 25 years experience caring for and learning about this breed. As the in home ‘MidWife,’ she has been the backbone to our little opporation and the reason we are able to share these puppies and the joy they bring.
